Istana Budaya

The literal translation of Istana Budaya is The Palace of Culture and it is the National Theatre of Malaysia. The construction of this place was inspired by certain elements in the traditional Malay culture, creating an admirable architecture. Performances are regularly being hosted here, so tourists should check for the availability and dates of the performances beforehand.

Petronas Twin Towers KLCC

Petronas Twin Towers (KLCC)

Soaring to a height of 451.9 metres, the iconic 88-storey Petronas Twin Towers is one of the most famous landmark in Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia. The towers were the tallest buildings in the world from 1998 to 2004 and remain the tallest twin towers in the world today. Located at the bottom of the Twin Towers is Suria KLCC, which is a mall offering a wide variety of brands for shopping and dining, as well as entertainment centre. Other than that, the Skybridge connecting the two towers and the observation deck also offers a spectacular view of the city.

National Planetarium

National Planetarium

The National Planetarium is located conveniently inside the Lake Gardens Kuala Lumpur. Its architecture resembles a mosque, with a blue dome on top of it. One of the major attractions of this planetarium includes a space theatre which screens space shows and large format film.

Head over to Perdana Botanical Garden to get in touch with nature without leaving the city. You can find a wide variety of plants here, and the sceneries are definitely worth taking out your cameras for. Within this park, there are several sub-parks to visit, such as the Bird Park or Orchid park. It is also walking distances away from some other attractions in the city such as the National Monument, National Planetarium and Islamic Arts Museum.

Batu Caves

Batu Caves

Site of a Hindu temple and shrine, Batu Caves attracts thousands of worshippers and tourists, especially during the annual Hindu festival, Thaipusam. There are three main caves featuring temples and Hindu shrines with the main attraction being the large statue of the Hindu God at the entrance, besides a steep 272 climb up its steps to finally view the stunning skyline of the city centre. Monkeys frolic around the caves, and it is a popular spot for rock climbing enthusiasts.
